A Note From the Publishers – February 2026
February arrives with a gentle reminder to celebrate love in all its forms, romantic, familial, and the deep connection we share with our community. As Valentine’s Day fills the season with warmth and reflection, it also invites us to appreciate the moments, traditions, and people that bring meaning to our lives. That spirit of love, generosity, and togetherness is woven throughout this issue of Santa Clarita Magazine.
On our cover this month, we are proud to spotlight two exceptional nonprofits making a lasting impact in our community. Bridge to Home is already off to the races as it prepares for its 2026 Soup for the Soul Gala. This Derby-themed celebration invites Santa Clarita to come together in support of individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 21, 2026, when the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida will transform into a race-day inspired evening filled with glamour, tradition, and heart, one of our community’s most beloved annual events.
Also featured on our cover is the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley, which presents a powerful message of self-worth and empowerment through an exclusive screening of Embrace, the acclaimed documentary by Taryn Brumfitt. Titled “Be Confident, Not Compared. Be the Beauty You Already Are,” this special evening takes place at Canyon Theatre Guild at 7:00 p.m. on February 6, and includes a thoughtful panel discussion to follow, an inspiring experience you won’t want to miss.
We are also pleased to share the first editorial, “Looking Ahead,” from Laurene Weste, marking her debut since assuming the role of Mayor of Santa Clarita. Her perspective sets a forward-thinking tone for the months ahead.
Inside this issue, we also highlight a full calendar of upcoming events that reflect the generosity, creativity, and energy of our community. From Circle of Hope’s Bowling for Hope on Sunday, February 22, 2026, and its signature Vine2Wine fundraiser at Bella Vida, to Laughs for a Cause 2026, celebrating women who continue to shape the world of comedy at Hart & Main. Music lovers will enjoy “Be Our Guest,” the Santa Clarita Master Chorale’s Cabaret & Cabernet evening inspired by the wonderful world of Disney. We also feature Crack Some Crab for a Cause, benefiting Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, the Santa Clarita/Antelope Valley Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. hosting a lively Mardi Gras Casino Night, and the 16th Annual Mardi Gras Madness 1K/5K/10K, a record-breaking race supporting youth and leadership through Students Off And Running and JCI Santa Clarita.
This issue offers something for everyone, from our Valentine’s Day Gift Guide and Ka-ching Tax Guide as we head into tax season, to our Dining Guide featuring local restaurants perfect for romantic evenings and memorable meals. Add to that a lineup of outstanding editorials, and February’s issue truly celebrates love in all its forms.
Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our advertisers and loyal readers. For 36 years, your support has made this magazine possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
With appreciation,
Until next time!
Sincerely, Linda, Moe and Alexander Hafizi
