St. Patrick’s Day Care Packages to Hometown Troops – Prayer Angels
Annual community collection drive is under way to surprise Santa Clarita troops overseas with fun care packages from home. Organized by our local non-profit Prayer Angels for the Military, with help from hometown schools and youth groups. “These kids have such big hearts, and they’re always so eager to help send support and gratitude from our community”, as expressed by Suzon Gerstel, CEO of Prayer Angels. Collection drive through-out the month of February. Let’s go for Green, Irish and Lucky! Packages need to ship by March 2 for troops to get by March 17. Items are needed to fill boxes and funds for shipping are needed.
Most needed items: Individually packaged snacks like Slim Jims, Jerky, Jack’s Beef & Cheese Sticks (a favorite), trail mix, protein & granola bars, Ritz crackers (multi snack packs) & peanut butter (16oz plastic jars), nuts, cookies, chips, Chex mix, sugar free gum, cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, St. Paddy’s Day treats, pudding & fruit snack packs, Top Ramen packs (not cup a soups), oatmeal & hot cocoa packs, specialty ground coffee (1lb bags), drink packets for water bottles (like Propel, Zero Gatorade), tuna or chicken kits & pouches, canned meals (hearty soups & chili), chocolate bars, travel sz shave gel or cream, 3-4 blade razors, athlete’s foot cream, sm sz toothpaste, body wash, QTips travel sz, thick cotton crew socks (blk or wht), Mechanix type work gloves, men’s body wipes, AA&AAA batteries, crosswords/sudoku, cards, note pads, blank cards to send home, pens, mechanical pencils, Thank you cards to troops from all ages to go in the care packages.
