Operation “We’ve got your back!” Armed Forces Day Care Packages
Santa Clarita is Loving on our troops as Armed Forces Day care packages are being sent to hometown troops overseas. A great way to show our support and gratitude for their service and for their sacrifices. Make it even better, say it in a card as well! Ongoing collection drive throughout the month of April, to ensure receipt and a smile by Armed Forces Day on May 16th. Event is proudly hosted by Santa Clarita’s local 501c3 Prayer Angels for the Military, Inc.
Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May. On this day, we pay tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces currently serving our country. We honor those in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard, including our National Guard and Reserve units. It’s a day to show our appreciation for their dedication to our country and for keeping us safe. “See a service member – Say a simple thank you. It’s easy and it’s also good for the heart, both yours and theirs!” as expressed by Suzon Gerstel, CEO of Prayer Angels for the Military, Inc.
Donated items are needed to go in the care packages, and tax-deductible cash donations are always needed. Shipping fees are now $28 a box, even with the military discount!
