The CTG Brings Magic, Murder & Mayhem in April! – Canyon Theatre Guild
For one night only, catch Welcome to Magic Academy! at Canyon Theatre Guild on April 17th. Playing through April are Wait Until Dark, a suspenseful thriller, and Boeing Boeing, a hysterical farce. For one night only and for the first time ever, the doors to Magic Academy are opening to the public! Join “students,” Kasmira and Viktor as they try their hand at tricks and tips learned at the prestigious Magic Academy under “Professor” Joseph Gabriel and “Professor” Chuck Jones in this Magic and Dance Extravaganza! Take a walk down (or rather stumble through) Magic Lane as we follow these charismatic students, and ask the pressing question – “But Will they Graduate?” Don’t forget to dress for school – you just may be part of the show! There’s no need to go to Vegas to see a Vegas Magic Show! Wait Until Dark is a psychological thriller about Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion. The New York Times describes the production as “A classic that still delivers a good scare… delivers a spellbinding final scene that fulfills the promise of the play’s, and the subsequent movie’s, reputation as a classic.” “A first-rate shocker… the suspense drama we’ve long awaited eagerly,” says the New York Post. In Boeing Boeing, a hysterical comedy, the story centers on self-styled Parisian lothario Bernard, who has Italian, German and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” He keeps “one up, one down, and one pending” – until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris, and Bernard’s apartment, at the same time. The New York Times says Boeing Boeing “Soars right out of its time zone and into some unpolluted stratosphere of classic physical comedy.” “Fasten your seatbelts for the most deliriously funny flight of your life,” said Georgina Brown, Mail on Sunday.
