5 Tips To Get Your Home Ready Before The Heat Hits Conejo Services
Summer in the Santa Clarita Valley means triple-digit heat, long days by the pool, and air conditioners running around the clock. It also means your home is working harder than it does any other time of year. Pre-summer prep helps avoid a breakdown at the worst possible moment.
Get your AC serviced before temperatures climb. If your system hasn’t been serviced this year, schedule a tune-up before the heat arrives. A technician can check refrigerant levels, clean coils, and inspect components that tend to fail under heavy use. Catching a small issue in May is a lot less disruptive than an emergency call in August.
Inspect outdoor plumbing and pool equipment. Check outdoor hose bibs and irrigation lines for leaks or damage before heavy watering season. If you have a pool, make sure your pump, filter, and automated systems are running efficiently to keep your pool clean and energy usage down.
Check your electrical panel before summer demand peaks. If your home is running central AC, a pool pump, EV charger, or other appliances that draw a lot of power, it’s worth having your panel inspected to make sure it can handle the load safely. Check outdoor outlets and GFCI protection near water features as well.
Think about backup power before you need it. Summer brings grid strain and fire-related shutoffs that can leave homes without power for hours or days. A whole-home standby generator kicks on automatically and keeps your family comfortable no matter what.
Heat and UV are hard on roofs and garage doors. A quick inspection for cracked or lifting shingles and worn garage door springs or weatherstripping can prevent bigger problems down the road.
Taking care of your home doesn’t have to be complicated. At Conejo Services, we’ve been helping families do exactly this for nearly 50 years. One call connects you to our full team across every trade.
