A Note From the Publishers – May 2026
May is one of those months that seems to arrive with a little extra sunshine and a full calendar—and we’re here for all of it.
First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, grandmothers, and mother figures in our community. Whether you’re planning something special or keeping it simple, we’ve made it easy for you to celebrate. Be sure to check out our gift guide for thoughtful ideas, and don’t miss our Dining Guide filled with wonderful local restaurants ready to help you treat Mom to a fabulous brunch or dinner she won’t forget.
On our cover this month, we’re proud to feature the Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Golf Classic, taking place May 9 at Valencia Country Club. This meaningful event supports Emergency and Trauma Services at Henry Mayo, making a real difference right here in our community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved, enjoy a great day on the course, and give back in a way that truly matters.
We’re also excited to welcome back our 12th Annual Old Town Newhall section, highlighting the people and businesses that bring so much energy and charm to this vibrant part of Santa Clarita. Old Town Newhall continues to thrive because of the passionate individuals behind it, so take some time to stroll, shop, dine, and support local.
The season of giving and gathering is in full swing. The 37th Annual Taste of the Town returns on May 3 at its new location on Rye Canyon Loop in Valencia, benefiting the Child & Family Center. This beloved event promises an incredible selection of food, wine, beer, sweet treats, and some truly exciting auction items. It’s always a standout fun day, and this year will be no exception.
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for the 54th Annual Boys & Girls Club Benefit & Auction, “La Dolce Vita,” on June 6. With Di and Jeffrey Thompson at the helm, you know it’s going to be a memorable night filled with fun, generosity, and community spirit.
Be sure to save the date for June 20, when Terrell Edwards brings an all-star lineup of entertainment to CalArts, another can’t-miss evening.
There are so many wonderful events happening in the Santa Clarita Valley that we simply couldn’t fit them all here, so be sure to flip through the pages to discover even more. You’ll also find our comprehensive Medical Guide in this issue, a valuable resource if you’re looking for trusted local professionals.
And don’t forget to check out our Calendar of Events on page 104, packed with the happenings that truly make Santa Clarita Valley “Awesometown.”
As always, a heartfelt thank you to our advertisers. Your continued support allows us to bring this magazine to life each month. We are proud to be the only monthly magazine in Santa Clarita, and even prouder of the role we play in showcasing the people, businesses, and events that make this community so special.
Enjoy the issue—and we’ll see you around town.
Until next time!
