Canyon Theatre Guild Presents Two Great New Shows This June!

Canyon Theatre Guild is playing the Broadway Hit, The SpongeBob Musical, and Pulitzer Prize winning classic, Driving Miss Daisy, through the end of June. You don’t want to miss out on this “fun for the whole family” musical spectacular and timeless classic!
The Broadway Hit, The SpongeBob Musical, is a “fun for the whole family” hit musical. Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world.
The SpongeBob Musical director Ingrid Boydston said of the show, “It’s 100% family friendly. The Pulitzer Prize winning classic, Driving Miss Daisy,explores the unlikely friendship between a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow of 72 (Daisy) and her African American chauffeur (Hoke) in the Deep South just prior to the start of the civil rights movement. Hoke is immediately treated with disdain by Miss Daisy. Unimpressed by his employer’s patronizing tone and what he believes is her latent prejudice, the two nonetheless slowly start to learn each others’ truths and build a relationship that ends up lasting 25 years. Despite their many differences, the two grow closer. Slowly and steadily, the dignified and good-natured Hoke breaks down the stern defenses of Daisy as she teaches him to read and write.
