Child & Family Center to Host 80’s-Themed Bingo Night Benefiting Domestic Violence Program and Shelter
Child & Family Center invites the community to put on their best 80’s attire and join in a fun and meaningful evening at Bingo Night on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Center’s Domestic Violence Program and 30-Day Emergency Shelter, helping provide safety, support, and hope for survivors of domestic violence and their children.
Tickets are $50 per person and include a wine and dessert bar, as well as three bingo games with three cards per game. Additional bingo cards will be available for purchase. The evening will also feature prizes for the best ’80s costume and for bingo winners.
“This evening is about more than fun, although we certainly plan to have plenty of it,” said Nikki Buckstead, President & CEO of Child & Family Center. “It is also about raising awareness and standing with survivors of domestic violence right here in our community.”
Last fiscal year alone, Child & Family Center answered more than 2,000 calls to its domestic violence, 24-hour hotline and provided over 600 individual and group support sessions. Services included assistance with restraining orders and protective custody orders, help securing employment and housing, individual and group counseling, art therapy, connections to legal aid, clothing, food, and much more.
At a time when domestic violence programs are facing significant funding cuts at both the state and county levels, events like this are more important than ever. While domestic violence is often a subject many would rather not think about or discuss, the reality is that women and children in our community continue to need emergency shelter, safety planning, counseling, and support to escape physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially abusive situations.
“We have to be here for those who need a safe place to go and a path forward,” Buckstead said. “Our community’s support makes that possible.”
Child & Family Center’s Domestic Violence Program provides lifesaving services for individuals and families seeking safety, healing, and a chance to rebuild their lives. Bingo Night offers the community an opportunity to come together, enjoy a lively evening, and make a real difference in survivors’ lives.
Come for the fun, the costumes, the wine, and the desserts — and know that your participation helps provide safety, shelter, and support for those who need it most.
