Santa Clarita’s Sandi Naba Takes on Cancer as National “All-Star” Candidate
Santa Clarita resident Sandi Naba is turning her personal story into powerful action as a 2026 All-Star candidate in Blood Cancer United’s Visionaries of the Year campaign. Now in her fourth year participating, Sandi is competing nationally in a 10-week fundraising effort to support life-saving cancer research and patient support programs.
My commitment is deeply personal. At just 26, I was diagnosed with cervical carcinoma and underwent surgery and extensive treatment. While doctors warned I might never have children, I went on to welcome a healthy baby boy just a few years later. My story, however, is only one piece of a larger family experience with cancer, including the loss of loved ones to multiple forms of the disease.
“My story isn’t special, it’s just mine,” she shares. “But it’s enough to make me want to fight for others.”
Through the Visionaries of the Year campaign, I have set an ambitious goal to raise $150,000 by June 2nd. I am part of a dedicated team of local leaders working together to accelerate progress toward cures.
Blood Cancer United, formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has invested more than $2 billion in research since 1949. The organization is a global leader in advancing treatments for blood cancers and has played a key role in the majority of blood cancer therapies approved in recent years. Many of these breakthroughs, including immunotherapy and precision medicine, are now transforming treatment for other cancers.
With the June 2nd deadline, community support is critical. Donations help fund research, provide patient resources, and move us closer to a world without cancer. Donate by visiting https://pages.lls.org/voy/calso/goldcoast26/snabaa
As Sandi puts it simply: “Cancer has touched all of us. It’s time to take action.”
