This is the third month in a row that The Magazine of Santa Clarita has featured the photographs and descriptions of children looking to be adopted.  We’re happy to report a healthy interest from community members who genuinely see the needs of the children and are picking up the phone to inquire about adoption.

Still, there are so many children who still don’t know the true love that can be felt from being a part of a family.

For the month of June, we’d like to introduce you to three children (not related) who have been in foster care and would love to be adopted:
Jeniffer, 16-years-old is an above-average student at Logdon High School.

She is a likeable teenager who enjoys sports and wants to be a cheerleader.  She is independent and loves to debate.  Jeniffer is bright and resourceful and really wants to be adopted.

James, age 12, is a sweet child who can melt your heart.  He does well in school and can be a good helper.  He thrives on compliments and positive comments.  James can be stubborn at times and is working on grief and loss issues.  He likes riding his bicycle and wants to learn to ride a motorcycle.  He also likes video games and playing on the computer.  James has three siblings in another home (in Claremont) that he has weekly contact with and this visitation needs to be maintained.  He tends to do best when he is the youngest child or the only child in the household.  On the whole, James desires to do well.  With the right family, James has great potential to do well in life.

Tania is a 6-year-old girl who was born in El Salvador.  She is bilingual (English and Spanish) and easily responds after she has moved past her initial shyness.  After that, it doesn’t take long to see her flash a big smile, bubble with laugher and take the initiative to ask questions.  Tania is very curious, energetic and has been diagnosed with developmental delays.  She attends kindergarten and receives Regional Center services.  Tania says that she likes school and her teacher.  She enjoys playing inside or outside and usually does so independently.  Tania warms to adults quickly and is good at following directions.  She has a good appetite and sleeps without any problems.  Tania needs a high level of care and supervision.
