The City of Santa Clarita will conduct a Right Turn Pocket Circulation and Safety Improvement Project on northbound Whites Canyon Road at Soledad Canyon Road. Lane closures will be in effect during construction, which is expected to continue through March 22.  A portion of construction for the Right Turn Pocket project will be conducted at night to avoid disrupting busy daytime travel. Work will include construction of a retaining wall, sidewalk, pedestrian ramp, catch basins and paving, as well as striping, traffic signal modifications and the addition of a right-turn lane.
“The City is conducting the Right Turn Pocket Circulation and Safety Improvement Project after receiving requests from Canyon Country area residents to improve traffic conditions at the affected intersection,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “Once completed, the project is anticipated to streamline traffic flow by allowing northbound lanes to flow smoothly without needing to slow for turning traffic.”
The Right Turn Pocket Circulation and Safety Improvement Project is part of the City’s Highway Infrastructure Program, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
