Art is for people to view, enjoy and be inspired by the creativity of the artists’ paintings, photography and sculpture. The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association wants to provide art to Holy Cross Providence Hospital and Cancer Center for patients to see art everyday. On Friday, January 29, a painting was presented as a gift to Holy Cross Providence for their patients to enjoy from the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association. The gift was a large white canvas with 144 squares filled with individual pictures created by the Association’s members. Every square has a different picture, making it very exciting to look at each one and decide which squares are favorites.
Art can nourish, excite and inspire people and communities.
While most people feel positively toward the arts, that doesn’t always translate into action. Through the efforts of the California Arts Council, by creating a Public Value Program which was designed to promote a framework for thinking about the intrinsic and instrumental benefits of the arts, it has provided action. Resources from this program help art organizations and others bring positive community contributions to the lives of all who live in Santa Clarita and California.
