As many of you know, one of my areas of practice is estate planning which involves protecting oneself and one’s family with solid legal documents such as living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health care directives, guardianship nominations, and much more. Since this is often regarded as a mysterious area of law, I really enjoy “demystifying” it through education. Therefore, I will be doing quarterly seminars this year to educate those who are interested in learning more.
I invite you to attend a free Estate Planning seminar on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Valencia. There will be a complimentary buffet breakfast for those who RSVP and you can come to learn the fundamentals of estate planning, living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, guardianship nominations and much more! Learn how solid legal documents can protect you and your family and save you money!
Here are some of the topics we will cover:
What is a will and where can I get a free one? What in the world is an estate plan? Isn’t estate planning only for wealthy people? Who needs to do estate planning? When should someone plan? Is having a will enough? The “Do Nothing” Approach to estate planning. The dangers of joint ownership. What is a living trust? What kinds of trusts are there? What is a Power of Attorney? What is an advanced health care directive? What is probate and why should I care? Estate taxes and how to reduce or eliminate them. Gifting assets away. A good idea? What about children’s and grandchildren’s trusts? Guardianship nominations for children.
This presentation will be purely educational, and there will be no selling and absolutely no pressure. Come and learn the fundamentals and feel free to bring your questions.
