The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted by College of the Canyons, the City of Calabasas and the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce have announced a partnership to provide SBDC free business consulting and low-cost training services to small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the Calabasas area. Through this partnership, the SBDC will serve as the core source of workshop trainers and business advisors, while the City of Calabasas and Chamber of Commerce will provide the use of their facilities to host the SBDC’s lineup of low-cost workshops and no-cost counseling services.
“We are very pleased to form this partnership with the City of Calabasas and the Chamber of Commerce,” said Steven Tannehill, director of the SBDC at College of the Canyons. “Their facilities coupled with our resources will mean Calabasas small businesses will have immediate access to a wealth of low-cost small business trainings and free business consulting services.”
Beginning in May, SBDC business advisors will regularly host workshops and seminars in Calabasas with topics including:
• Business start-up and expansion
• Utilizing email marketing tools to drive sales

• Human resource issues in your small business
The first such workshop is ‘The Power of Email Marketing.’ It will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, in the training room at the new Calabasas Civic Center facility.
SBDC business training workshops will be conducted at the new Calabasas Civic Center Training Facility at 100 Civic Center Way in Calabasas, while consulting services will be provided in the Board Room at the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce, located at 23564 Calabasas Road in Calabasas.
