Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital celebrated Nurse/Hospital Week last month with fun activities and special events that were held as a show of appreciation for the hard work that takes place every day by all nurses, staff, volunteers and physicians.

“The celebration was our way of saying, ‘Thank You,’ to everyone who makes Henry Mayo a special place to work,” said Roger Seaver, Hospital President and CEO. “Henry Mayo appreciates its staff’s and physicians’ commitment and dedication to our patients and the well-being of our community at large.”

Events held during the week long celebration included the famous In-n-Out burger truck serving food in front of the Pavilion.  Chocolate- dipped strawberries were served to staff as well.

A well-attended and exciting iCare Core Team Expo took place in the cafeteria on May 9, as did KHTS radio interviews of Henry Mayo employees and a physician, who described their professions and spoke about some of the exciting projects that are happening at our hospital. Lemonade and popcorn were also served.

On May 10, sports-themed competitions were held and root beer floats were served in the cafeteria. On May 11, a special breakfast buffet was served in the cafeteria and delicious cookies were delivered throughout the hospital.

The entire week was extremely festive. Special thanks go to the Nursing directors and Hospital Week Committee for making this week-long event a great success.
