What does it mean to be our authentic self? Is it what our parents told us, or our mates? Our friends, coworkers, the media, employers, family or culture? Is it the person that we were told we were supposed to be? Is it someone we invented and created in order to fit into society? Possibly, or is it our unique expression and self-validating opinions and beliefs about ourselves? Well, both may be true, and we also have the choice to embark on an inner journey to reconnect to our true inner being, our core and become whole.
How do we contact our authentic self then? The first step in this process is to weed out and disconnect all the self-defeating beliefs and opinions that we have made regarding our true self. We need to learn to be honest with our true feelings, and disconnect all the binds that have trapped us into believing we can’t break free. We need to accept the light and the dark within us, in order to be strong enough to heal.
One of our deepest fears is that we won’t be accepted for our true self. We learned to adapt and change in order to fit into someone else’s picture of reality in order to be accepted. In order to reestablish integrity within ourselves, we need to be willing to go deeper beyond the illusory power of our fears, and control that we have set in place to protect ourselves. We can do this by creating a safe environment for us to begin to unravel and disconnect the false lies that we have told ourselves. As we do this, clarity flows into our being, trust, openness, peace, self-love, and acceptance. We can love and accept ourselves for our true feelings, and we stop needing others to validate us, we can contact our inner soul whose source of love flows effortlessly.
What does it feel like to be authentic? It is our true place of joy and love. We accept our own authority and confidence, and we start to radiate our true soul essence and our gifts out into the world. We trust and listen to our natural state of intuition and become liberated and uplifted, and we uplift those around us in our joy and celebration of ourselves.
