Andy Toy, Santa Clarita has a vivid imagination and a strong faith in the hereafter and the proof is in his first book, titled, “Dreaming of Heaven”. The 23-year-old College of the Canyons communications major was born in Newhall and found the time needed to write the book while laid up following his knee surgery.
His exploration into what heaven will look and feel like is filled with wonderful elaborate descriptions that paint a place where certainly a reader might feel hopeful and excited about life in the hereafter. Toy’s prologue compares the anticipation for a heaven to a child’s visit to Disneyland where there are no lines for the rides. For faithless skeptics, this read could prove to be a real stretch to the imagination or it could be an inspiration. At the very least, the short easy-to-read book will provide thought-provoking images of what could happen after we die.
Toy wrote the book following the murder of a family friend who left behind three children and a husband. He felt it was a gesture to console the victim’s children and if they are believers in heaven, it certainly could be an effective heartfelt attempt.
For anyone who has lost a loved one, it will conjure up images and feelings of hope about the possible future of life in the hereafter. If not, you’ll learn about another way of thinking you may have never thought of with regard to death.
The maturity of the young writer in his thoughts about time is really quite amazing and it makes one almost wonder where he is pulling his ideas from at such an early age. They are filled with hope and faith and certainly when further nourished could eventually become the musings of other great writers like best-selling Christian author Max Lucando, the author of numerous inspirational books.
Toy’s next book, Mephibosheth is based on an Old Testament character under King David’s rule. We wish him the best of luck.
