The honorable Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich dedicated Fire Station 156 in the Santa Clarita Valley and praised the County’s firefighting men and women.
“They are America’s finest,” said Antonovich, commending their heroic efforts four years ago to protect the Stevenson Ranch community from a serious fire in which no homes were harmed. “This Fire Station (156) will be a great resource in protecting our Santa Clarita Valley communities.”
Newhall Land President, Greg McWilliams opened the dedication ceremonies proud that the station sits in West Creek, Valencia’s newest development. He introduced Los Angeles County Fire Chief Michael Freeman who promised efficient and caring service from the firefighters at Station 156.
“The residents will see a better response time and a higher quality of service with the opening of this station,” says Freeman.
Twelve firefighters working 3 rotating shifts will man the station.
Charlotte Bedard has lived with her husband for the past two years in Santa Clarita and attended the recent station dedication.
“I feel so much safer now that the station is open,” says Bedard.
Construction efforts will begin in the near future on the permanent station scheduled to open in 2010.
