“I can’t imagine that anyone would let a day like Memorial Day pass without thinking about the true meaning and purpose of the holiday. We can’t forget the ultimate sacrifice that our brothers and sisters in the military have made for the rest of us. Everyone wants to be free, but only a select few will actually make it their mission in life to defend and protect so that others can live in peace…we honor them today.” said Ted McRae, ringmaster at Circus Vargas.
Katya Quiroga, trapeze artist and co-owner of Circus Vargas is dedicated to recognizing the military, as well.
“As performers we risk our lives everyday for our art, but we want to honor the real heroes, those that risk and give their lives every day so that we as a country can live free, happy and safe. It’s important for us to show our respect and gratitude and most of all, to remember.”
The high-flying feats, gymnastic expertise and goofy clowns brought cheers from the crowds proving you’re never too old for the circus.
