With 117 years of combined teaching experience, Saugus High School (SHS) will certainly feel a difference after four extraordinary teachers who recently retired from their professions don’t return next year.
More than 150 teachers, principals, friends and family attended the retirement luncheon to honor Kathie Davidson with 28 years of service at SHS teaching Math (35 year teaching career), Jenk Stephenson, a business teacher at SHS for 31 years (a 34 years total as a teacher), Paul Sweigart, a Special Education teacher for 27 years and teacher for 34 years and Doug Worley with 38 years of dedicated teaching, most recently teaching the SHS Strategy course. Several teachers, including SHS Principal Bill Bolde roasted the retirees.
We wish them well in their retirement and thank them for their tireless devotion to educating the youth of the Santa Clarita Valley.
