ImageThe Santa Clarita Ballet Academy is a highly-structured, comprehensive training program that teaches dance in a correct, proper way according to the standards set by the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance in London.
With five primary teachers at the Academy, each accredited by the Royal Academy of Dance, students receive top-notch training on one of the four dance floors at the Santa Clarita School.

“We really strive to instill a love of dance and our goal is to reach our students on an individual basis.  We don’t blanket train,” says Corinne Glover, owner of the Santa Clarita school, when referring to the one-on-one personal training they provide.

As part of the learning experience, dancers can be chosen to perform with the Santa Clarita Ballet in various productions performed throughout the year.

Dylan Ward began training at the Academy at the age of 8.

“He is exceptionally talented and has a dancer’s physique.  Dylan can really absorb the work quickly.  He recently placed second in the New York Grand Prix.  His talent really is God-given,” says Glover, who continues to train Ward, now a Junior at Canyon High School.

Glover cautions that not all dance students necessarily go on to build dance careers and in fact says it is rare that they end up in a professional arena, as she did.

Her training began at the age of 6 and since then performing and teaching dance is her passion.

“I love to see the students blossom.  The benefits that come from dance are countless.  The students really grow in confidence, poise and grace,” says Glover.

The fruits of Glover’s labors were recently seen at the College of the Canyons’ Performing Arts Center in a staged production of the classic work, “Coppelia,” with soloists and other dancers from the Academy.
“When they move on to pursue professional careers it is very gratifying.  I want them to grow their wings and fly.  I want them to be successful,” says Glover.

The Academy offers a full schedule of classes for beginners and all the way up to professionals.
