Q: I heard that this year Sisley will be turning 22!  Operating for over two decades must have given you a lot to reflect upon.
A: Yes!  We have seen many changes in eating habits, in family dinning and of course economics during our two plus decades.  We are very proud of our past 22 years, and even more excited about the directions we are taking today for many tomorrows.
Q: What’s the biggest difference between today and when you first opened the Italian Eatery?
A: There are plenty of differences, but if I had to narrow it down, I’d say diet trends.  Especially in regards to carb-consciuos eating.  In the 80’s people ate carbs.  Today, people are often staying clear of pasta.  Of course most people associate our brand of food with pasta, when in reality Italian is so much more than just pasta.  In Italy, the pasta courses are only a small aspect of the meal.  Usually served mid-way in a small bowl.  So today we’ve been working extra hard to introduce people to fresh fish and chicken options.  Meanwhile, for the pasta lovers, we’ve introduced a variety of glutten free options that are simply delicious and health-conscious too.
Q: The Internet has exploded and affected businesses in all sorts of ways.  In what ways has Sisley made its presence on the internet known?
A: We have a new website under construction.  Customers can book reservations online.  They can purchase gift cards.  We are using the Internet to host new promotions, and give our loyal customers ways to save and join in on special events.
Q: I’ve noticed your catering people out in full force lately.  What’s behind this?
A: Our in-house dining has always been consistent but we’ve made a concerted effort to work with local Santa Clarita businesses for delivery and catering orders.  People booking our private dining room or the entire patio for their special events have found that they can host large parties on their premises, and expect the same great food and service, from the comfort of the office or home.
Q: What else are you most excited about?
A: We have a new menu about to come out, with lots of new options.  From Glutten free entrees to a new Mediterranean heart-healthy line of dishes and wraps.  Extensive catering packages that make ordering for these special events easier than they were in the past.  We’re also about to unveil a lot of dishes that incorporate fresh fruit options fruit cups for dessert.  Fruit infused martini’s and non-alcoholic drinks.  Fruit and yogurt
combinations that we’re adding to the weekend country brunch menu.
Q: Lastly, with the economy affecting so many families, it’s been great to know Sisley responded with so many creative ways for your customers to save, and still enjoy eating out.  Can you list some of the great promotions you have been offering?
A: As a family run operation we know how important it is to eat together, and no matter the occasion, having the ability to dine out is crucial for any family, no matter how small or large.  So we have the kid’s eat free promotion, that runs from Sunday to Thursday, and gives young couples the ability to save while enjoying their favorite Sisley dishes.  We also have an amazing happy hour deal, not only discounted drinks but also a menu of smaller portioned Sisley dishes at reduced prices.  We’re also assessing our entire price points and when the new menu comes out you’ll be delighted to see that some of our best selling dishes have actually dropped, and this is just another way to help our customers out in these particularly trying times.
