Every child in America deserves to have a safe and nurturing home! Children’s Bureau is holding a monthly information meeting for those interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Westfield Valencia Town Center located at 24201 W. Valencia Boulevard in Valencia. The meeting will be in the Community Room next to Ann Taylor Loft between J. C. Penney and Prince of Jewelers. Call for further directions if needed!
Children’s Bureau currently needs foster parents, particularly for infants and toddlers, who will focus on reunification with the birth parents as their goal. In the past few years, families applying with CB have been certified as fost-adopt, which they will continue to be in the home study. However, CB also needs foster parents that are willing to parent infants during reunification services only, providing the same excellent care as always until the child goes home to their birth parents or to an adoptive home.
Individuals (single or married), teachers, retired persons and anyone interested in helping at-risk children find the love, stability and support a family can provide are encouraged to contact Children’s Bureau. Qualifying families receive training, certification, benefits (including medical for the children) and 24-hour support to aid in the care of their foster or adoptive children.
For 106 years, Children’s Bureau has been a nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. More than 21,000 children and families are helped each year throughout Southern California with services that include school readiness, parenting classes, family resource centers, support groups, mental health counseling, mentoring, foster care, adoption and more.
