The Brittany Foundation Finding Their Forever Home – October 2024
A non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption.
Waldo
After arriving here from the Palmdale shelter, we noticed Waldo was not tracking toys when people were playing with him. After many vet visits, it was confirmed that he had some serious issues with his sight. He had surgery to reattach both retinas. He will, however, always be farsighted, so he will need an understanding special-needs adopter who will help him navigate life this way. Waldo is silly, loves playing with other dogs, and is quite affectionate. Due to his farsightedness, we think it would be best if he were placed in an adult-only home. This young pup just needs a chance.
Holly
She was adopted as a puppy from another rescue, then returned to that rescue when they started a “family.” Then that rescue shut down, so we welcomed her here. Holly has now lived over 5 years of her life in a rescue. She’s the perfect medium-sized dog, and while she is not a fan of other dogs or kids, and can be a little quirky, she is as sweet as can be with all of us. She loves leisurely mornings and greets everyone she meets with a toy and tail wag. We would happily consider a local foster for her too.
Snoopy
Before we welcomed him here in 2022, Snoopy lived in one home for 8 years but tragically, his owner died suddenly. He was adopted later that year in what we thought would be his forever home, but unfortunately, he is back with us here at The Ranch due to no fault of his own. He is not a fan of other dogs or cats. Snoopy’s silliness and loving personality are sure to bring immense joy to his future home. He has so much love to give. Can you give this sweet senior a home?
Chip
He was running out of time at the Castaic shelter before we were able to welcome him here. But Chip has already been here for a year and a half. He is a playful American Bulldog mix, around two years old, and a strong-willed dog. We are looking for experienced adopters and we will even cover the cost of Chip’s additional training to ensure a smooth transition. Marlowe
He was dumped in the South LA Shelter in January 2023 by the only family he had ever known and was short on time in the shelter before we welcomed him here. Every day he is so excited to see everyone, go for his long walk, and chill enjoying the day. He’s about 12, still can out-walk every dog here, and lives with our other senior littles. If you are not able to adopt a dog, you could become a monthly sponsor.
Mia
She is the first dog that new volunteers meet when they come here, so that tells you a lot about her. Mia loves everyone! She is with us because her family lost their home, but that was two years ago now. We so want to find this sweet senior a home of her very own. She takes short leisurely walks but would much rather run around in a yard. If she could be placed with other animals, we are sure she would have been adopted a long time ago. But, as it stands, she would prefer to be the only princess in the house.
Sadie
She is about 50 pounds, maybe a year old, and her face and ears are giving off definite Australian Kelpie vibes. Sadie is living in a foster home, is potty trained, loves long walks and running around in the yard. So far she has been pretty nervous around other dogs, so her foster family is working with her; otherwise, she is doing amazing in her foster home.
Vera
This sassy, fun-loving 8-year-old chihuahua lived in a home, then another home, then was surrendered to the Castaic shelter, where she was scared, struggling, and unfortunately given the “rescue only” tag, which means a rescue had to pull her. Since she has been here with us, she is doing great. She is unbelievably athletic, smart, and quite affectionate. She struggles with other dogs, so we are working with her on that. She is an absolute love and would make a wonderful companion.
