Kaiser Permanente: Enhancing Community Health in Santa Clarita Valley
Kaiser Permanente’s mission goes beyond providing exceptional healthcare services. They are dedicated to enhancing the well-being of their members and strengthening the communities they serve. Believing that true health encompasses physical, mental, social, and community aspects, Kaiser Permanente addresses economic opportunities, racial equity, education, homelessness, housing, food security, and resilience in school environments, while ensuring access to healthcare.
Committed to total health—mind, body, and community—Kaiser Permanente employs thousands of physicians, nurses, and other staff, investing over $222 million to improve community health among vulnerable populations.
To achieve more equitable health outcomes, Kaiser Permanente collaborates closely with community-based organizations, safety net clinics, schools, faith-based institutions, cities, service providers, county departments, and healthcare systems. In addition to direct grant investments, they provide technical assistance, facilitate trainings, conduct community programming, offer volunteer support, and engage in strategic community collaborations.
Through partnership and volunteerism with local organizations, Kaiser Permanente is making a significant impact in the Santa Clarita Valley. Some of these organizations include:
• The Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, Inc. in support of their project titled “Primary Healthcare Services at Bridge to Home,” providing primary healthcare services to at least 120 Bridge to Home clients.
• The Child & Family Center provides access to mental and behavioral health services for survivors of domestic violence, helping more than 300 adults and children.
• The College of the Canyons’ Center for Early Childhood Education continuing to focus on Early Childhood Education Mental Health, expanding its pilot program to serve 500 preschool-age children and their families throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
Through efforts like these, Kaiser Permanente continues to build healthy communities. Their holistic approach to community health ensures that they are not just a healthcare provider, but a true partner in the well-being of the communities they serve.
