These days, new technologies sprout up faster than weeds. But unlike the pesky plant-life, which can both steal time and demolish rosebushes, the technologies, for the most part, provide interesting content and creative ways to stay connected to the world. ZOE Children’s Homes is happy to invite everyone to join them as they gain popularity in the social networking world.
ZOE Children’s Homes is a non-profit organization based in Santa Clarita whose mission is rescuing children who are vulnerable to human trafficking, orphans and children who have previously been enslaved. ZOE’s work has initially been focused in Thailand, a region where these atrocities are prevalent. ZOE has enjoyed astounding success in rehabilitating and raising rescued children in Thailand. Recently, ZOE also began cooperative support efforts with law enforcement officials, government agencies and other anti-human trafficking organizations in the United States by helping to provide information and supplies for victims. Anyone who would like short, timely messages called “tweets” from ZOE about daily human trafficking prevention activities should consider following ZOE on Twitter by going to www.twitter.com/ZOEChildren. ZOE’s staff members “tweet” daily in order to update followers and help them stay connected.
Those wanting a more personal, in-depth connection to ZOE, or those who have not yet taken the Twitter plunge, should consider choosing to “Like” ZOE Children’s Homes on Facebook. ZOE’s profile includes a detailed mission statement as well as several photo albums. The albums contain pictures of some of ZOE’s rescued children and photos of the different phases of construction for ZOE’s new, state-of-the-art facilities. There is also a tab that allows people to purchase original ZOE apparel. ZOE fans will be invited to ZOE’s upcoming events, which, in the past, have included seminars, concerts and charitable car washes.
In addition, ZOE has also launched a YouTube channel. ZOE’s videos can be accessed by searching for ZOEChildrensHomes at www.youtube.com. Currently, one of the posted videos shows highlights of the ZOE Child Rescue Team in action. Another posted video explains some simple steps young people can take to protect themselves from human trafficking by safeguarding their computers.
