Ann Parr, a transplanted Londoner, has been a GO enthusiast since 2004 when she took her first class, Gardening in Santa Clarita. In recent years, Ann took classes for fun; but now, she’s getting serious. When she and her husband saw business begin to dwindle at the recording studio they have owned for 35 years, she decided to return to office management. Concerned that her office skills were soft after three decades of self-employment, she enrolled in four Golden Oak classes simultaneously: Microsoft Word, Excel I and II, and Accounting and Quick Books. She landed a position as an office manager in Burbank at a Bronze Foundry after just one Quick Books class. Knowledge of Quick Books was a requirement for the position and she admitted that she had no experience with the program, but landed the job by virtue of simply being enrolled in the class.
