As a tradition at Creative Years we have our annual “Snow In July Week” during the summer camp. It is the most cherished, exciting and amazing day during that camp week.
The mesmerized looks on the children’s faces when the truck pulls up (from Newhall Ice) and starts to blow the fresh snow into the playground is priceless… the excitement and the fact that they will get to go touch it, play in it and enjoy it for the day!
For many children this is their first experience of snow.  It’s one thing to read about it in a book, to see it in a photo or even draw it on paper but it’s a whole other experience to actually stand in your shorts and touch real snow.  The children are amazed by how cold it actually is.  There is nothing better then tossing a snowball to your friend for the first time!
