Fancy hats, gorgeous clothes and a nod to the wedding of England’s Prince William and Kate Middleton made for a delightful afternoon at the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Guild’s 27th Annual Fashion Show on October 23.  Dubbed a “Royal Fashion Show,” the event, held in the ballroom of the Sheraton Universal, attracted more than 350 guests and benefited the laboratory department of Henry Mayo.

Shelley Hann, the 2011 fashion show chairwoman, came down the runway first in a classic little black dress and dramatic matching hat to cheers from the crowd.  Master of Ceremonies Ed Masterson introduced the fashion show in style, dressed as English pop superstar Elton John.
The Carin Holmenas-produced fashion show culminated in a royal wedding extravaganza with a striking white strapless gown from Ali Rahimi for Mon Atelier and children’s couture from Belle of the Ball.
Guest Josephine Divita of Valencia had nothing but praise for the show.  “It was great, such incredible clothes,” Divita said. “I’ve lived in Santa Clarita since 1971, so I’ve been to the hospital many times and think it’s wonderful. I’m happy to support Henry Mayo.”
