Each issue in SEASONS Magazine the City features “Since You Asked,” which includes the top three to five most frequently asked questions of the last three months as received from residents and business owners, as well as the City’s response. The following are the top three questions asked this summer.
1. How can I find out more about Santa Clarita’s schools?
Schools in Santa Clarita rank among the top 10 percent in the nation. But, contrary to popular belief, the City of Santa Clarita does not operate the schools in the community. There are six different school districts in the Santa Clarita Valley, more than 10 different private schools, and four colleges. Links to all of this information are available at Santa-Clarita.com under “Santa Clarita 24/7, Since You Asked” – Simply search the topic “Schools in Santa Clarita” in the search window.
2. Does the City require a business license?
The City of Santa Clarita does not issue nor require business licenses or business permits for businesses operating in the City. A business permit is only required within the City of Santa Clarita if the business is subject to Los Angeles County health or safety regulations. Businesses that require a business license from the County of Los Angeles include, but are not limited to: restaurants, fitness gyms, beauty salons, heavy equipment rental yards, gas stations, bakeries, etc. A complete list of categories requiring a license is available at a Los Angeles County Business License Office or online at LACounty.gov.
3. How can I learn about Jobs with the City and in Santa Clarita?
