Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley Presents $8,000 Donation to Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center. On November 21, 2011 Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley presented a check to the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center in the amount of $8,000. 
This donation was a portion of the proceeds gained during their 8th Annual “ Bras for a Cause 2011…Denim and Diamond Hoedown” fundraiser held on October 2, 2011 at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia. This donation will go towards the 2011 Benefit Project to purchase a Wi-Fi enabled ViOptix T.
OxTM Tissue Oximeter which measures the oxygen flow in transplanted tissue following a breast flap reconstructive surgery and transmits the data to any Internet accessible device. The T. Ox makes it possible for clinicians to immediately identify tissue health and potential distress earlier and thereby initiate appropriate intervention more rapidly to improve patient outcomes. The cost of this system is $40,000; the donation given by Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita will help make this possible.
