Art has always been a part of my life.  There is a joy that flows out of me and into the work of art I create.  Even when the work is a struggle, it is still something that demands its own time and space.  It evolves as if on its own volition.  My friends who are artists feel that same insistence from their art.  It calls to them, waiting impatiently to move from vision to reality.  Art is inside us, sometimes a whisper, sometimes a shout, clamoring to get out.  Art dances in our heads.

Since art has been such an important part of my life, I have always wanted to share that passion with others.  When I was an elementary school teacher, I always made time in my classroom for the arts.  I encouraged my students to create.
Now I’m part of a wonderful group of people who nurture our own creativity and share it with others.  Have you heard about The ARTree Community Arts Center?  We’re embracing the arts and making a difference here in Santa Clarita.  It is our goal to cultivate creativity in others.  We are sculptors, painters, animators, musicians, and performers, all sharing our passion for the arts.  We work to inspire children by offering arts based activities at city events including the Literacy and Arts Festival, Earth Day, and Art Walk.  The artists of the ARTree also teach low cost classes at the Newhall Community Center and at the Activity Center.  We have shared the experience of creating murals with children and adults.  Have you seen the murals on Railroad Avenue or on Main Street?
The ARTree wants everyone to explore their own inner creativity.  If you would like to join us, please visit our website at theartree.org.  We would love to have your positive energy.  You don’t have to be an artist, you just need to have a love of the arts and want to share that passion with others.
