Get ready for a day of fine wines, spirits, brews, food, classes and live music, as the WineFest returns to Santa Clarita on Saturday, March 3 at the beautiful Bridgeport Marketplace in Valencia. This exciting one-day event will return for the second year in a row, all to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.
Owner/CEO and founder, Joel M. Fisher, PhD, created the L.A. WineFest in 2006 and brought it to Santa Clarita in 2010 and last year’s event had over 1,000 in attendance.
Dr. Fisher is the Sommelier for the Escoffier Association of Southern California, a regular wine host for CRN Radio’s What’s Cooking Show, and has been an adjunct instructor at the Le Cordon Bleu College for Culinary Arts. He has been a wine columnist for several publications including the Culinary Connections of the Chefs de Cuisine, The Beverly Hills Courier and more. “I always go into each of our fests with some feelings of anxiety as we hope that our attendees will enjoy the experience created for them,” states Dr. Fisher. “We are very happy to have been asked to return for our second year and excited to share many new tastes with our crowd, along with some of the most popular from last year. Thank you for having us back. I hope you like this year even more.”
Over 300 wine, spirits and brews will be poured at this year’s WineFest. Included in the day’s events are three master classes, featuring Mark Newman’s “Million Dollar Palette” with wines of Italy and Spain, Barrie Lynn, the Cheese Impresario with George Rosenthal to present Artisanal Cheese and Wine Paring. The last class will be a scotch tasting hosted by Chris Uhde, Scotch Master for the USS Highland games Costa Mesa. WineFest guests will have their chance to be among the first to taste ValBeMar’s Kopi Luwak , a rare and unusual delicacy. “For the past year we’ve been traveling and picking the best wines to showcase from around the world,” states Communications Director Joe Wehinger. “Now as the time approaches, having the community embrace the event is inspiring. So many people and companies have reached out to support our work. We hope to make the attendees even happier than last year.”
This year’s WineFest will also be teaming up with the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, a non-profit organization providing financial and emotional support to children and their families in the Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys.
