Fillmore & Western Railway provides a nostalgic trip back in time for those who fondly remember the early days of rail travel and for those who just love trains. Besides being the location of many feature films and television productions, the trains are the setting for daytime excursions, weekday group tour trains, murder mystery dinners, and a themed train ride for nearly every holiday. The vintage 1930’s and 1940’s coach and dining cars have been restored to their original décor.
Daytime trains run every Saturday, rain or shine, through March. Beginning in April the weekend scenic excursions run every Saturday and Sunday. On selected Saturday nights, Murder Mystery Dinner Theater is offered year-round. The theme for the lighthearted and comical mysteries changes monthly, all are hilarious entertainment coupled with an excellent dinner prepared and served onboard a vintage moving train. A special Valentine-themed murder mystery, “The Love Train”, is always a crowd pleaser. It is scheduled on Tuesday night, February 14. A Special fundraising “Great Train Robbery” event is scheduled for Saturday night, March 3 benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clara Valley. Ventura County Deputy Sheriff’s officers, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Posse and Frontier Gunfighters will all provide unprecedented entertainment. Passengers will be treated to a BBQ dinner buffet but need to prepare to be robbed. All proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club.
