Thru my travels, there is a woman who I run into every once in a while. This is not just any woman; she is an 11, on a scale of one to 10, the kind of woman that made me stutter, when I talked to her. Well, one day I got the courage up to ask her out, and no, I did not stutter. To my surprise she said yes. We went out and had a great time, so we decided to go on a second date. I took her out to a very nice place for dinner, no not McDonalds. The date went great, we talked for hours, but when it was time to say goodnight, I had the feeling that she was not into me, as I was in her. So I decided not to pursue her anymore.
Well that was over six months ago. Since then, I have not seen or talked to her. Then one day we met again unexpectedly. We talked for a good half hour, and I was more attracted to her than ever. We agreed to go out that night. I picked her up and we went to a nice restaurant. While we were waiting for our table, I explained the reason for not calling her, was that I thought she was not interested in me. That night after dinner we went dancing, and it was one of my best dates, ever! I completely fell for her. We went out four or five more times, and each time it just got better and better. She had everything that I was looking for in a woman, great personality, easy to talk to, smart, and easy on the eyes, mine at least. Ok so you are probably thinking, this is too good to be true. Well it was not; at least I thought it wasn’t. On our last date I wanted to know when her birthday was. She told me it was coming up, and told me how old she was going to be, early 40s. After that she looked at me and asked how old I was. She thought she knew, but she was way off. I guess I look younger than I am. When I told her, she gave me that look of disbelief. I could see it in her face; I was now too old for her. You do not know how much that hurt, deep down. In life we go through ups and downs. Was it worth the little time of happiness I had, to then go thru the hurt that I felt? That’s for you to decide.
