The months are flying and everyone is hurrying to get income taxes filed hoping there will be a return from the federal government.  In the last few months I have written about the need for the city of Santa Clarita to create an Art Center or a Art Museum, either one would be appreciated.  However, I never hear from any of the members of the City Council or Art Commissioners or people in general about what I am saying in regards to these issues.  It makes me wonder if anyone is concerned about the need for more art experiences being offered in the Santa Clarita community.
In the Friday, January 27 edition of the Signal Newspaper there was an article by Bill Kennedy entitled, What does Santa Clarita want to become?  The writer is concerned about the future of Santa Clarita and says now is the time to consider several key questions.  First, what does the community value and what type of City do residents want?  The writer of the article does not presume to have all the answers, but discussion of the future of Santa Clarita must provide for input from all citizens and the promise that the public’s contributions will influence the decision.  Finally, the writer of the article says, “the Santa Clarita Valley needs community visionaries and a strong, forward-looking local government to transform the public’s wants into a visible plan.”  After reading all of Mr. Kennedy’s words in his article about how SCV can develop its future I agree with his comments.  I would like the city government leaders to go forth in developing a community plan to learn how our citizens can provide their inputs about having an art museum or art center for everyone.  Maybe this can be done very soon.  Who will go forth in our city to develop this kind of plan?  Will you help develop this plan?
