Santa Clarita Valley volunteers anxiously await to find out who will be the 2012 Man and Woman of the Year. The nominations for the SCV Man of the Year are: Steve Kilker, Tom Dierckman, Steve Sturgeon, Gary Choppe, John Lutz, Jim Lentini and Bill Lively. The nominations for the SCV Woman of the Year are: Linda Hafizi, Agnes Russell, Myrna Condie, Debbie Heys, Laurie Ender, Gerri McCorkle, Sue Endress, Dawn Hovhannisyan, Cheryl Gray and Marina Contreras. The nominees will be introduced by their respective non-profit organizations at a Paparazzi Party held on Tuesday, March 13.
Each 501(c) (3) community service organization was allowed to nominate one man and one woman whom they felt had dedicated an outstanding amount of time and volunteer service to the SCV. Candidates must have a history of community commitment, and nominees are considered based on type of service, years of community service and the impact of service that was provided to multiple local organizations. The Committee, comprised of previous honorees, will select the Man and Woman of the Year from the submitted nominees.
The 46th Annual Premier Volunteer Recognition Event, 2012 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year dinner will be held on Friday, May 4, at 6. p.m. at the beautiful Hyatt in Valencia. Tickets are $85 per person, sponsor tables available.
