Assistance League 5K Run/Walk

This year’s Operation School Bell 5K Run/Walk set a record for the number of participants!  Over 450 runners and walkers turned out under sunny skies for the 22nd annual Assistance League 5K Run/Walk to benefit their signature philanthropic program, Operation School Bell.  The winners in all age groups were awarded certificates.  Anely Avila was the overall fastest female runner and Alredo Corondo was the overall fastest male runner.  Held at Newhall Park, the race included a Kid’s 1K Fun Run for children under 10 and junior high school teams competed for the first time.  All proceeds benefit Operation school Bell which provides clothes and shoes for school children in need throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
