Chairman Donnell Jones extends an invitation to our community to attend and participate in the 3rd Annual Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 Car Show and Chili Cook-Off Charity Fundraiser that will be held on Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Proceeds from this event will provide free programs for children with disabilities through the Elks Major Project.
This year, Jim Lentini and Ray Paladini worked together to create a competitive and Poker Run that will begin at the Lodge at 8:30 a.m.  Registered participants, driving cars or riding motorcycles, will be given information and directions for the poker run and rally route. The stops in Acton and Agua Dulce will be at Vincent Hill Restaurant, 49er Bar and Grill, Bullwinkle’s and Le Chene Restaurant, before the returning to the Elks Lodge for the completion of this run.  The winner will be announced, prizes will be awarded, and everyone can enjoy the rest of the day at the Car (and Motorcycle) Show and Chili Cook-Off.  Proceeds from this Poker Run will benefit our Veterans through Habitats for Heroes.
The famous Elks BBQ Team will be serving delicious, mouth-watering tri-tip sandwiches and hot dogs.  This event will also include a silent auction, boutique and chili tasting.  Awards will be presented to the chili cook-off and car show winners.  The band, Soundwaves, will have you dancing and swaying to the sounds of the 50s and 60s music.
Admission to this family event is free.  Participation in the Car Show,Chili Cook-Off and Poker run is as follows: Car Show registration by June 1 is $15 and $20 on the day of the event. Poker Run registration by June 1 is $10 and $15 on the day of the event.  Chili Cook-Off registration is $10 to enter a crockpot filled with your tastiest chili entry.
