In the Hart District, there are multiple Regional Occupation Programs that are made available to students interested in seeing what it would be like to work in different career fields.  Among the many classes, there are a few of them that train students in civil service jobs like firefighters, sheriffs, and emergency medical technicians.  On Saturday, May 12, the fire fighting program held it’s open house to demonstrate the skills they learned over the grueling weeks of hard work throughout the semester.  Serving as a culmination ceremony as well as a display of knowledge, the students practiced many firefighting tactics used in multiple life threatening situations.  From vehicle extraction to burning building evacuation, the junior firefighters showed their parents and the public that they are committed students, interested in this career choice.  Every year, the William S. Hart Fire Academy educates and trains the youth of today, equipping them with the knowledge and values needed to become the firefighters of tomorrow.
