Residents enjoyed the Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade, which began at 9:00 a.m. in Old Town Newhall. The mile-long parade route featured horses, floats, music, classic cars, military presentations and more. The participants traveled down Main Street, Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village Road before finishing at 16th Street.
This year’s parade theme was “Santa Clarita Volunteers.” Residents Jim and Bobby Stone served as Grand Marshals. The couple has dedicated their lives to volunteering. In addition to recognizing the Stones, the theme honored the 6,200 Santa Clarita volunteers who donated more than 26,775 hours in 2012 and those who continue to volunteer in our community every year.
