The Marvelous Wonderettes is a delightfully refreshing musical comedy set in the 1950s and 60s, filled with the classic songs of that era (think forever plaid, set 10 years later and with girls)!  The show opens at the 1958 Springfield High School prom with the lights coming up on the evening’s special entertainment: The Marvelous Wonderettes.  These four best friends (Betty Jean, played by Marie Wise-Hawkins; Cindy Lou, played by Catherine Birdsong; Missy, played by Courtney Potter; and Suzy, played by Sarah Lang) sing popular songs from the 1950s, including Sugartime, Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, and Dream Lover.

Act Two takes place at the Springfield High School Class of ‘58 10-Year Reunion, and The Marvelous Wonderettes once again take the stage with songs of the 1960s, including Heatwave, It’s In His Kiss, Wedding Bell Blues, I Only Want to Be With You, Rescue Me, and Respect!  At the reunion, we learn about the different roads these ladies have traveled since graduation.
The Marvelous Wonderettes is a non-stop, toe-tapping, harmony filled, musical adventure you won’t want to miss.  The young and young at heart will most certainly fall in love with The Marvelous Wonderettes and you’ll leave the theatre singing at least some of the songs.
The Marvelous Wonderettes is directed by Greg Finley, with co-musical direction by Jack Matson, choreography and assistant direction by Musette Caing, costumes by Janet McAnany, set design by Jim Robinson and Pat Mannion, set decoration by Pat Robinson, lighting by Aaron Steele and co-sound design by Daniel Barsky.
