On Wednesday, June 27, 2012 Santa Clarita Mayor Frank Ferry announced the City of Santa Clarita’s partnership with the American Heart Association and Los Angeles County Fire. Dr. Franklin Pratt, Medical Director for Los Angeles County Fire, and Sylvia Beanes, Community CPR Manager for the American Heart Association were on hand for the announcement.
Santa Clarita is the first City to partner with the AHA and LA Co. Fire. The announcement was made prior to the first City training of CPR Anytime. Over 100 Santa Clarita junior lifeguards were trained in the 22 minute program. Each of the participants received a training kit and pledged to train an additional 10 members of their family or circle of friends.
