Jonathan Yardley once said, “There are only two seasons…Baseball and The Void.”  And for this baseball fan, it couldn’t be truer.  From the excitement of spring training, to the anticipation of Opening Day and well over 150 games played, Major League Baseball is coming to an end as teams vie for the coveted World Series trophy.  With the passing of October, we bid adieu to baseball season.

Celebrity Sightings 1Just a few months ago, Santa Clarita resident and Dodger fan Austin Randall took a photo with 1974 NL MVP and ten-time All Star Steve Garvey.  Garvey starred for the L.A. Dodgers and was nicknamed the “Iron Man”.  In 1981 he received the Roberto Clemente Award, and in 1984 the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.  He is also a four-time Golden Glove Award recipient.
I had the awesome opportunity to accompany the Valencia High School Choir and their award winning Vocal Jazz Two N’ Four as they performed our nation’s anthem in front of thousands of fans at the Dodgers vs. Cincinatti Reds game.  Infielder Adam Kennedy made an appearance on the field prior to the game and snapped a few photos with some of the USA Olympians who were part of the evening’s opening ceremonies. USA’s Olympic Boxer, Jose Ramirez snapped a photo with fan Vincent Riccella, and Olympic Water Polo players Tony Azevedo and Merill Moses were kind enough to take a photo with me.
Fall is finally here, Santa Clarita, and so are the stars.  Thank you for all your celebrity sightings…Get your cameras ready and be on the lookout.  Do you have a celebrity sighting to tell and photo to share?  If so, e-mail me at selgin@santaclaritamagazine.com.  Happy sightings!  Mamarazzi.
