“We carry luxurious hand-painted and natural fiber yarns not carried by the big craft chains, including hand-dyed silks, alpacas, llama, bamboo and hemp, plus accessories like needles and step-by-step books,” says Elmo.
Realizing the importance of supporting the community, Simply Knitting has participated in the Bras for a Cause annual fundraiser, the Revlon RunWalk, as well as Soroptimist International events. Also, the ladies have an ongoing knit a square for charity in store project for Afghan donations.
“We are using knitting as a way to interlace creativity, community and therapy,” says Elmo. Obviously, it’s working.
