It was all about the animals. Large, small, young, old, fluffy and smooth, hundreds of dogs and cats arrived from six Los Angeles County Animal Shelters with one hope: to find their forever homes at the Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair at Newhall’s Hart Park on Sunday, October 14.

In addition to adoptions, the fair also boasted more than 50 pet-related vendors, who offered up everything from custom, bejeweled cat and dog collars to veterinary care, as well as food and face painting. AngelDogs Foundation provided free micro-chipping while TAGS Vaccine Clinic provided free rabies vaccinations to pet owners.
“Our board’s goal every year is for animals that were in the shelter that morning to be in a home by nightfall,” Allbee said. “Knowing that 158 pets are now considered part of a family makes the hard work of putting this fair together more than worth it,” said Yvonne Allbee, founder of Bow-Wows & Meows.
