The Santa Clarita WorkSource Center hosted a series of recruitment events lastmonth to identify candidates for available positions with companies including LAPD, American Business Machines and Staffmark. The recruitment events were held at the Santa Clarita Worksource Center, located at the College of the Canyons University Center, Suite 250 at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road.
The first recruitment opportunity began January 16, targeting individuals who are interested in a career with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Participants took the LAPD Entrance Exam to be eligible to join a world-class police force that has long set the standard of excellence for police training and performance.
On January 17, American Business Machines personnel were at the WorkSource Center recruiting “Sales Warriors” to join the family owned company. Finally, on January 24, Staffmark recruited for Pallet Jack Operators, Forklift Operators, Assorted/Packers, Blending Operators and Quality Assurance Inspectors.
The WorkSource Center offers free services to connect job seekers and employers, by providing clients with the necessary tools and training opportunities to search and prepare for employment opportunities. The WorkSource Center regularly collaborates with local businesses, offering a variety of services from pre-screening candidates to access to Enterprise Zone eligible employees. The WorkSource Center is made possible through funding and support from the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and the City of Santa Clarita, in partnership with Goodwill Southern California, the Employment Development Department (EDD), the County of Los Angeles Community and Senior Service, and College of the Canyons.
