This is the final installment in our series on seven ways of checking your health.
6) How are your menstruations?

For normal women, this period usually comes around every 28 to 30 days.

If your menstual period is late by seven days, the period seems to be abnormal. Bleeding usually lasts three to four days and could be stretched to seven days in rare cases.

The typical color of the blood is red or dark red and the amount of discharged is about 50 to 150 grams. If the amount is more than 150 grams or less than 30 grams, this is considered an abnormality.

Temperature reflects the state of menstruation, hormone and pregnancy.  Your temperature can be measured early in the morning.  If you check your temperature every day, you will see an increase in temperature up to 37 degrees Celsius and this lasts for a while.  You will start your menstruation period 14 days after your temperature reads normal.
Once you begin to discharge blood, your temperature drops to 36 degrees Celsius.

If there is any menstrual discharge, you will see the same increased body temperature as if you were pregnant.  It is recommended that women who have stopped menstruation without any reason, or who have irregular periods should check their basic temperature for at least three months.

7) How about your blood pressure?

Normal blood pressure for an adult is high 120mmH and low 85mmH.  A patient with high blood pressure would be high 150mmH and low 90mmH and a patient with low blood pressure would be high 100mmH.

To maintain normal blood pressure, people should develop good habits.  Eat nutritiously and keep a stable mental health.  Also, get regular checkups.
