This year’s Operation School Bell® 5K Run/Walk was another successful fundraiser for Assistance League Santa Clarita! Runners and walkers turned out under overcast skies, Sunday May 5 for the annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit their signature philanthropic program, Operation School Bell. A big thank you to all the sponsors and supporters of the local Chapter.

The winners in all age groups were awarded certificates. Kaylee Thompson was the overall fastest female runner with a time of 20:10 and Alfredo Coronado was the overall fastest male runner with a time of 16:29. Held at Newhall Park, the race included a Kid’s 1K Fun Run for children under 10. Junior high school teams competed for the second year. Placerita Junior High came in first place for having the most participants. All proceeds from the race benefit Operation School Bell, which has already provided clothes and shoes for over 2000 Santa Clarita Valley children this school year.
