Let me start this by telling you about my last month’s Starbucks date. She was a very unique woman, and I think her ex-boyfriend was nuts to break up with her. I guess he needed his space, and splitting up was the only way for him to get it. The date went great. We really got along great. It had been a long time since I connected with someone this well. We talked and talked for hours, and I was starting to feel an attraction to her. Obviously you can tell I think she is pretty special.
This lady, and I do mean lady, has one of the best personalities I have ever met. I know you are waiting for the down side, and yes there is one. It’s called the rebound, and since she just broke up, she was still hoping to get back together. So she was definitely not ready to move on yet. I knew from her actions she was not over him yet, so I wished her luck, and I reluctantly moved on.
I had a date with another woman a few weeks ago, and it was, for lack of a better word unique. She was a little taller than I expected. She wore four-inch heels. I am between six foot one, and six foot two with shoes on, so it’s pretty rare for me to be standing eye to eye with a woman. That was in no way a negative for me. The conversation was another story though. She started discussing her ex boyfriends, in depth, which is a no-no on a first date. Most of the time I hear that they were jerks, or cheating, or that it just did not work out. So this woman starts telling me how in love she was with her last two boyfriends. She even said that she has been going to bed crying. Yes crying. She has been single for a while, but very unhappy. Well I said it was getting late, and walked her to her car. Know what she said? Yep she was going home to cry. I said goodbye.
I wanted my readers to know that the Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita is holding its second annual Gentlemen for a Cause fundraiser June 8. I have the honor of being auctioned off for a date again. This is a great fundraiser for the Bridge to Home charity. I hope that some of you will come and bid on me, or the other Gentlemen that will be there.
